Posterous

If you’re a fan of microblogging sites such as Tumblr, Twitter and of course Posterous, you’ll love this new iPhone app. Basically, it lets you post any mix of text, photos, and video as quickly as you can think of them on the web for free. After posting, the Posterous site will create a micro-site for your content which you can then easily share with friends and family. The app also lets you autopost anything on your Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Flickr, Picasa and other online sites. It’s built for multi-tasking, and optimized for mobile viewing, and images and videos are automatically resized to fit for mobile viewing. (Price: Free) (Download link)

Blipped

blipped

Blipped is a new iPhone app that works hand in hand with the Blippy.com site. What? You don’t know what Blippy is? Me neither. Actually, it is a fun, free and safe site that lets you share your purchases and see what your friends are buying online and in real life. It’s like Foursquare for stuff you buy. With the Blipped iPhone app, you can do these things from the comfort of your iPhone. This app lets you easily review, comment, email, search, and track all purchases with friends and followers. If you’re a Blippy.com member, you should get this app. If you’re not, then now is the right time to join Blippy.com and use the iPhone app. It’s fun. (Price: Free) (Download link)

Movie Vault

Are you a big fan of classic old films? If yes, then this app was made specifically for you. Basically, what the app does is to let you stream great classic feature length films over 3G or Wi-Fi. When we say classic feature length films, we mean really old movies of the bygone era. If Jerry Lewis, Charlie Chaplin, John Wayne and the likes ring a bell to you, then you should get this iPhone app. Features include - full Retina hi-res support for iPhone 4 users, new back-end server updates for better streaming, great new movies and hi-res shelf-design, and more. The app gives you access to more than 1,000 movies, simple to use interface, true cover art and movie info from IMDB along with some other nice features. (Price: $2.99) (Download link)

Instagram

instagram

This is currently one of my favorite new iPhone apps. Instagram is a new, free iPhone app that is both a photo effect and photo sharing app for iPhone. It does two things - adds stunning effects to photos you’ve captured using your iPhone and then provides a robust sharing system via Twitter, Flickr, Facebook, Tumblr and Foursquare. The app also lets you follow friends who also use the app and comment on their photos. The app gives you several filters to apply to your photos which will give them new meaning and added fun. You’ve got to try this app to believe me when I say that it’s a great new iPhone app to have. (Price: Free) (Download link)

VLC Media Player

First things first, before it’s too late. If you know this app and you’ve been using it as your media player on your computer, you better get it now for your iPhone. Word on the street says that Apple might pull it out from the App Store. With that said, this app is basically an iPhone version of the famous, open-source media player. As such, it lets you play all file formats supported by the software on your iPhone without needing to convert, to make them playable on your iPhone. (Price: Free) (Download link)

Jot for iPhone

There are three things which this new iPhone app lets you do on your iPhone - Sketch, Share, and Innovate. This app lets you make quick sketches and diagrams easily. You can use it to take notes in meetings and share them quickly via email or save them on your iPhone’s camera roll as photos. You can also quickly and easily sketch out ideas by drawing and using text. Finally, the app allows you to get your ideas out for the world to see or collaborate with via email.
