written by: Arnold Zafra•edited by: Simon Hill•updated: 3/21/2011

Of the many math subjects in school, calculus was the most difficult for me. Oh well, all of the math disciplines are difficult anyway. How I wish there was the iPhone back then. I could surely have used one or two, if not all, of these iPhone calculus app options we have listed down.

    Calculus Pro

calculus pro This iPhone calculus app certainly lives up to its "Pro" branding when it comes to content and features. And of course functionality wise it will definitely help you get out of those difficult to solve calculus problems and come up with the best solutions. I'm no calculus genius and neither did I master the field of calculus but judging from the array of topics that this app discusses and tackles, I'm pretty sure you'll find it very useful. So, if you find the calculus topics - differentiability, derivatives of complex solutions, implicit differentiation, optimization and other technical calculus topics difficult, do yourself a favor and get this iPhone calculus app. (Price: $0.99)

Formulus Free - Formulas for Calculus

Formulus Free - Formulas for Calculus Would it be fun if instead of flipping through your textbooks to find a certain calculus formula you could just search for it on your iPhone? Well, this iPhone calculus app has got it covered for you. The app serves as a study tool with its easy to use and very well organized interface. It is also easy on the eyes, despite the fact that you will be staring at numbers and symbols. Navigating through the app's entire collection of calculus formulas is like a breeze. Best of all it covers most, if not all, of the formulas that are usually required in both high school and college calculus and differential equations. (Price: $1.99)

pre-calculus What makes this app great are its other features. It does not need any Internet connection to function and won't take up too much space on your iPhone. It also doesn't have in-app purchasing or in-app ads that will otherwise annoy you. In terms of content this iPhone calculus app is pretty much loaded with calculus-related topics. It has more than 300 rules, definitions and examples - all about calculus subjects including matrices, solving linear equations, solving augmented matrices, and so much more. Other features of this app that you will like include - easy to read format and easy to sort list. (Price: $1.99)

    Calculus AB Review

Calculus AB Review If you're a high school or college student taking up calculus, this iPhone calculus app will definitely be of great use to you. It's your best reviewer app if you're taking the Calculus AB College Board Examination and also a useful study tool if you're in college taking up calculus. It gives you 10 audio review lectures with notes, graphs and diagrams to help you easily understand the different calculus topics. Best thing to note here is the fact that this app was developed by a chemical engineer, whom I guessing must have either loved or hated the subject so much that he decided to develop this iPhone calculus app. Some of the topics the app focuses on include - functions and graphs, limits, asymptotes, and continuity, derivatives, and more. Calculus in 21 Lessons

calculus in 21 lessons Twenty one lessons, that's all it takes to master calculus. Had I known this before, I would have finished my calculus subject in high school with flying colors. This iPhone calculus app gives you a handy self-teaching guide with a teach-by-example approach that will guide you in solving easy and complex calculus problems. If you find computing limits, one-sided limits, power rule, derivative of a constant implicit differentiation and other common calculus topics too difficult to understand, this app will make it easier for you. Its clean and simple interface will help you focus on the topic at hand rather than distract you. (Price: $4.99)
