HTC 7 Trophy Review: First Look
HTC was the first manufacturer that supported Android and released the first Android phone - the T-Mobile G1. Now, it’s also one of the first major backers of the new Windows Phone 7 OS by Microsoft. It has announced 4 new Windows Phone 7 devices, of a total of 9. We have already covered the HTC HD7, the HTC 7 Surround and the HTC 7 Mozart. Now, we will check out the fourth HTC phone - the HTC 7 Trophy.
The HTC 7 Trophy sports specifications which are very similar to the other Windows Phone 7 smartphones. All of them offer almost the same features, what differentiates them is the design and the the form factor.

The HTC 7 Trophy is a very stylish phone which has the standard candybar form factor. It is quite slim and compact with dimensions of just 118.5 x 61.5 x 12 mm and it weighs about 140 gms. It has a very nice glossy black exterior and is one of the best looking Windows Phone 7 devices.

The new OS has a hub based interface which is very different from iOS or Android. It will have about 2,000 apps and games in the online marketplace at launch, which is quite a decent number, though a lot less than what Android and the iPhone have to offer.
It is powered by a 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and comes with 576 MB of RAM. It has a built in 512 MB ROM and comes with 8 GB internal storage. The hardware is pretty much the same as every high end Android or Windows Phone 7 device.

Like all the other WP7 phones, the HTC 7 Trophy also sports a 5 MP camera with autofocus and LED flash. It has a maximum image capture resolution of 2560 x 1920 pixels and supports features like face detection and geo-tagging.
It supports the playback of all standard video and audio formats including MP3, WMA, WAV, eAAC+ and MP4, H.264, 3GP, WMV etc.
Connectivity
The Windows Phone 7 OS has deep social networking integration and comes with the new Internet Explorer Mobile. It has every connectivity option currently available - it comes with GPRS, EDGE, 3G HSDPA, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP. It also offers microUSB 2.0 connectivity and comes with a GPS chip with A-GPS support and Bing Maps.
