Simple Green is a concentrated, eco-friendly cleaning solution. It can be used for a wide variety of cleaning tasks. Simple Green has earned a positive reputation for good reason, it’s a great product.
Uses
Simple Green can be used on any washable surface to remove coffee, grease, grime, pet stains, blood, adhesive residue and other stains. I tested it on car mats to remove oil and on pet stains. I also used it to remove fingerprints from brass door handles. The cleaner is concentrated, so different cleaning jobs require diluting it. The dilution ratios can be view or downloaded here .
Auto Floor Mats
After soaking the mats with water, I used the foaming tip on the spray bottle to spray undiluted Simple Green on oil stains. I rubbed it in with my finger tips, then let it soak for 20 minutes. When the time was up, I rinsed the mats thoroughly. They looked almost like new. A couple of very deep stains remained. I sprayed them again, scrubbed them with a brush, then rinsed and they were gone.
Pet Stains
I used Simple Green to clean a pet stain from my beige carpet. I followed the directions on the bottle and the stain came up. It did not do much to reduce the odor, though and it was tough to “rinse” all the product out when used on wall-to-wall carpeting. Also, the scent of Simple Green All-Purpose Cleaner leaves a bit to be desired for this type of cleaning. I wouldn’t recommend this product for that type of job. Instead, I now use Citra Spot for stains on carpeting.
Naturals Line
The Simple Green Naturals Line that made it’s debut in 2008 at the National Hardware Show. I’m looking forward to trying some products from the Naturals Line in the future. The Naturals products have all sustainable ingredient sources, are non-toxic and biodegradable (as is the Simple Green All-Purpose Cleaner), and are packaged in 100% recyclable bottles. The labels are printed with soy inks, too.

Simple Green All-Purpose Cleaner is non-toxic, biodegradable, non-hazardous, non-flammable, and non-corrosive. Simple Green has over 20 products in the line now, including a lemon scent all-purpose cleaner, which would probably be more useful for carpeting. They have disposable scrubbing pads, grill cleaner, paint prep, various degreasers, and even wipes. Simple Green gets extra points for creating safe version of products that are very rarely eco-friendly. Their testimonial page is a mile long, but this particular one about their wipes is especially wonderful.
