Montana State University has recently launched a new online Master’s degree in agricultural education to meet the needs of long-distance agricultural education students. This degree adds to the growing number of online programs offered by Montana State University.
The online Master’s degree in agricultural education requires 30 credit hours and takes two years to complete. Students must register for at least six credits per semester. The classes focus on improving your skills in the area of agricultural education, with an emphasis on leadership and communication. Students may take online classes from any of the disciplines within the College of Agriculture at Montana State University, including specialized courses in agricultural economics and animal sciences. Students will also take online courses from the College of Education, including in the areas of adult education and curriculum coordination.
Montana State University’s online degrees are a great deal for students who live in Montana. Residents receive a reduced rate of $326.80 per credit hour; out-of-state graduate students are charged $793.45 per credit hour. How to Apply
Applications will be accepted until July 15, 2009 for admission into the Fall 2009 class. Courses begin three times per year—in the Spring, Fall and Summer. Montana State University recommends that applicants have an undergraduate degree in agriculture or education, although they will consider related degrees as well. A 3.0 GPA in undergraduate coursework is considered the minimum acceptable average. Students must also submit GRE scores, a statement of purpose and three written recommendations. Montana State University looks for a combined GRE score of at least 1,000.
