To back up your Windows 7 registry,
Go to Start > Run > regedit.
Open the Registry Editor and click on File > Export and save the whole registry data to a file you want to. Remember to select the Export Range as All.
Once your registry is backed up, you can try to restore the registry using any of these tools.
