Editing Photos in Elements 5.0
Even for professional photographers, taking pictures can be a tricky business. Sometimes, the lighting just isn’t right, the image is blurry, a subject has red eyes, or the colors are just too dark. Fortunately, today’s technology allows even a novice to edit their photos so that you would think they had been taken by a professional. Photoshop Elements 5.0 offers several different types of photo editing. For simple edits, such as adjusting the lighting of a photo or removing red eyes, select the Quick Fix feature. Or, for more advanced editing, PhotoShop Elements offers its Full Edit feature. Let’s take a look at using each of these features.
Quick Fix Editing:
The quick fix feature is great for when you want to remove red eyes, crop the photo or adjust the colors. To engage this feature, simply click the Edit button and choose Go To Quick Fix. One of the neatest features of the quick fix feature is that you can preview your fixes by using the Before and After function available from the View menu in the lower left corner of the image area.
Full edit mode allows you to make a wide range of changes to the photos. To engage this feature, click the Edit button and choose Go To Full Edit. Not only can you complete the same edits as with the quick fix, you can also adjust for skin tone, remove flaws or objects from the photo background and make many other adjustments. If you are the creative type, the world is at your fingertips with the artistic adjustments that are available. You can add text to the photos, add filters, combine images and work with different image layers.
Whatever your photograph experience, you can now use the features available in Photoshop Elements 5.0 to make the most of your photographs. The possibilities are truly endless and flexible enough that you can use your edited photos in whatever you like.
