Nokia 2730 - Introduction
The Nokia 2730 is probably the cheapest 3G cell phone around. It looks like the evolved version of the Nokia 2700 and Nokia 6700. With its fluid and clean design, it is sure to attract those who want 3G in their cell phone but can't afford much. It is mainly targeted at the Asian market where 3G is on the rise.
The Nokia 2730 is available in two colors - Black and Magenta and the availability of these colors depends on the region where you buy it.

For the price that the Nokia 2730 is being offered for, the design is just excellent. Simple and elegant is what describes the Nokia 2730. The buttons are not cluttered and are placed very well. Marathon texters need not worry about their texting speed. At a weight of 87.7g with the battery included, at times you will forget you have the phone in your pocket. The crystal clear 240 x 320 pixel color TFT screen is brilliant with 262,144 color support. The display of the Nokia 2730 is probably its highlight feature, apart from the 3G that it offers.

The big display offers amateur photographers a nice view of the images taken from the Nokia 2730's 2MP camera. The absence of a flash is, however, a huge drawback as it is pointless to capture images during the night. The 4x zoom provides room for extra clarity and the user can choose from various white balance and color balance modes. In all, the camera is just for the basic purpose of capturing images and doesn't match the performance of 2MP cameras that come in many other Nokia phones.
For music lovers, the Nokia 2730 supports a variety of audio formats like MP3, WMA, WAV, AAC, eAAC+, XMF. They are all popular audio formats and the in-built support removes the need to install applications to support various audio formats. For videos, MPEG-4 and 3GP formats are supported.
TCP/IP connection is supported and you can easily synchronise your e-mail with the MS Outlook synchronisation support. Synchronisation is also available for calendar events, contacts and notes. Thus you don't have to worry about missing those important notes or those contacts in case you lose your cell phone or if it is damaged beyond repair.
What the Nokia 2730 lacks is Wi-Fi and GPS. But if you are connected to a 3G network, you will not feel the need to connect to a Wi-Fi hot spot because you will not notice the difference in the surfing speed on this phone -- 3G is fast enough.

If you are a Nokia fan and you have been using Nokia phones, you will feel at home with the user interface provided by the Series 40 platform. A very simple user interface with not many changes. The home screen is customizable and you can install the themes that you want to have or just change the wallpaper. The menu, like every other Nokia phone, can be customized to a list or a grid view.

The call quality offered by the Nokia 2730 is really good and it offers equal quality over conference calls too. It offers good connectivity when it doubles as a modem when you connect it to the PC to use the Internet. Since the Nokia 2730 is not a smartphone, its internal 30 MB dynamic memory is more than enough to smoothly run all the applications on the phone.
Internet connectivity is what this phone is really built for. Surfing on Opera is really fast (in terms of Internet speed on a phone). Consumers from the Asian region should have this phone that comes for a really economical rate if they want to try out the 3G services.

Since it is from Nokia, it is built for rough handling and the long lasting battery gives you around 12 hours of talk time.
