Easy Tips for Creating Your Own Icons
My newly started Adobe Illustrator CS3 series focuses on creating icons. There are hundreds of icons that you can create. This series will focus some on those icons. In this icons series you will find icons like help, download, sound, and mail. Icons are often used on websites, web galleries, and interfaces.
The tutorials in this series are pretty easy to follow along, so if you are a beginner using Adobe Illustrator CS3, you shouldn’t have a problem following along. The tutorials in this series will provide images for you to look at to get a visual. Some of the harder tutorials will have more images provided to help you out. Just about everything that you will need for the icons can be found in Illustrator. If something needs downloading in order to create an icon, I will let you know in the opening of my tutorial. So, let’s take a look at some of the icons that we will be creating in this series.
Back and Forward Sunset Icons – This is actually two icons. One icon has a forward arrow and the other has a backward arrow. The arrows are placed on sunset gradient backgrounds. This tutorial will show you how to create the back and forward sunset icons in Adobe Illustrator CS3.
Blue and Black Gradient Mail Icon – This is a blue and black gradient icon with a mail symbol on it. In this tutorial I will show you how to create the blue and black gradient mail icon in Adobe Illustrator CS3.
Red Glass Sound Icon – Sound icons are very popular. I find that glass icons are very popular too. This tutorial will show you how to create a red glass sound icon in Illustrator.
Purple Glass Download Icon – This tutorial requires that you download the aqua balls file in order to create this icon, but I have provided the link that will carry you straight to the download page. This tutorial will show you how to create the purple glass download icon.
Red Round World Wide Web Icon – This is a basic icon with the world wide web symbol on it. Behind the symbol is a basic red gradient background. This tutorial will show you how to create the world wide web icon.
I will be adding a lot more tutorials to this series, so there is more to come. If you are new to creating icons, the above tutorials are a great place to start. They are explained in detail so that beginners can understand them easily.
