Using the Text Effects in Microsoft Word 2010
To use the text effects found in Microsoft Word, you have two options. First, you can select the effect you want to use and then type your text, or second, you can type the text, highlight it and then select the effect. For this tutorial, we will type the text and then apply the effect.
Type something on your Word document like your name. Then highlight the text you typed. Go to the top of Word and open the text effect menu. Browse through the effects and find the effect that you want to use. Click the effect to apply it. When you place your mouse on an effect, you will see the text you typed change to the effect on which you have placed your mouse. This is a good way to preview the effect before applying it.
You can also change the font and text size of the text you are creating. Once you have applied a text effect, you can edit the effect by using the options in the bottom part of the menu. You have the option of changing the outline color, adding a shadow, adding a reflection and adding a glow. When you mouse over the options in the bottom of the menu, you will be able to see the changes in the highlighted text. When you find something you want to change, you can click it and the changes will be made. Just make sure you have the text highlighted before making any changes.
