    Nokia N9 Preview

Nokian9 The Nokia N9 is one of the most ambitious Nokia smartphones I've seen in a long time. News of the Nokia N9 leaked with a video last month showcasing the Nokia N9's capabilities. Rumors indicated that it will be the first phone to run the new MeeGo OS which has been developed jointly by Nokia and Intel, but it is believed that it could be a Symbian ^3 phone, just like the Nokia N8.

The Nokia N9, if successful, may bring Nokia back into the smartphone game and may prove to be a worthy competitor to the current breed of the best Android smartphones and the iPhone 4.

    Design

The exact dimensions of the Nokia N9 haven't been revealed yet, but it will be a QWERTY slider smartphone. It will have a 4.0 inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display. The display will have a resolution of 360 x 640 pixels and will support 16 M colors. It will be one of the best Nokia displays ever with excellent contrast and brightness levels, though the resolution seems a bit low for a 4 inch display.

The N9 will be very slim and the QWERTY keyboard will be quite large and spacious and will slide out from under the display.

    User Interface

The Nokia N9 is believed to run on the new Symbian ^3 OS. However, as Nokia has announced that the N8 will be the only Symbian ^3 device, chances are strong that it will run on the new MeeGo OS by Nokia and Intel. MeeGo will sport a fully touch enabled UI and will comes with an applications store just like the iOS and Android platforms.
