Indications

Salami, bologna, pickled herring, liver, red wines, sour cream, canned figs and raisins can all cause interactions with this medication. If you partake of any of these by mistake while taking this medication, contact your doctor immediately for further information.

Side Effects

Side effects of taking Yohimbine HCL include nausea, dizziness, anxiety, sleepiness, duodenal ulcers, and headaches. Although there are few side effects, many are not experienced by all of patients. Some patients have no side effects whatsoever, and therefore can take this medication with no problems. Anyone having side effects from this medication can consult their physician about dosing changes.

Risks

Overdose can be seen with symptoms such as weakness and fatigue, dizziness, excitation, severe stomach upset and nervousness as well as irritability, paralysis and seizures. If any of these symptoms are seen, rush to an emergency room and contact the local poison control center as well. The elderly are much more sensitive to the side effects of this medication, therefore caution should be used. Women should not take this medication, especially while pregnant as it is not known if this can be excreted in breast milk.
