Paint Shop Pro X2 Keyboard Shortcuts for File, Edit, and View Functions

Keyboard shortcuts can save a lot of time, especially when working with an application with as many functions as Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo X2. Since there are a multitude of these shortcuts, we’ve compiled a comprehensive list of these commands and what they do. This article is Part 1 of a three-part series and covers keyboard shortcuts found in the File, Edit, and View menus. Part 2 deals with keyboard shortcuts found in the Image, Adjust, Layers, Selections, and Window menus. Keyboard shortcuts relating to brushes and tools are discussed in Part 3 of this series.
File Menu Keyboard Shortcuts
- Close - Ctrl+F4 – Closes the current image.
- Delete Image - Ctrl+Delete – Deletes the current image from disk.
- Delete Workspace - Shift+Alt+D - Deletes a workspace from disk.
- Load Workspace - Shift+Alt+L - Loads a saved workspace.
- New - Ctrl+N – Creates a new image.
- Open - Ctrl+O – Opens an existing file.
- Print - Ctrl+P – Prints the current document.
- Save - Ctrl+S - Saves the current document.
- Save As - F12 – Saves the current document with a new name.
- Save Copy As - Ctrl+F12 – Saves a copy of the current document.
- Save for Office - Shift+F12 – Saves the current document in a format ready to be used in Microsoft Office.
- Save Workspace - Shift+Alt+S – Saves the current workspace.
- Start - Shift+C – Starts a screen capture.
Edit Menu Keyboard Shortcuts
- Clear - Delete – Clears the current selection.
- Copy - Ctrl+C; Ctrl+Insert - Copies the current selection and places it in the clipboard.
- Cut - Shift+Delete; Ctrl+X – Cuts the current selection and places it in the clipboard.
- Paste As New Image - Ctrl+Shift+V; Shift+Insert – Pastes the information in the clipboard into a new image.
- Paste As New Layer - Ctrl+L; Ctrl+V – Pastes the information in the clipboard into the current image as a new layer
- Paste As New Selection - Ctrl+E – Pastes the information in the clipboard into the current image as a new selection.
- Paste As New Vector Selection - Ctrl+G - Pastes vector data from the clipboard into the current image as a new vector selection.
- Paste As Transparent Selection - Ctrl+Shift+E – Pastes information from the clipboard into the current image using a transparent background color.
- Paste Into Selection - Ctrl+Shift+L – Pastes information from the clipboard into the current selection.
- Redo - Shift+Alt+Backspace; Ctrl+Alt+Z - Redo the last command.
- Repeat - Ctrl+Y - Repeats the last action.
- Undo - Alt+Backspace; Ctrl+Z - Undo the last command.
View Menu Keyboard Shortcuts
- Brush Variance - F11 - Toggles the brush variance palette view.
- Full Screen Edit - Shift+A - Edits the current document using all available screen space
- Full Screen Preview - Ctrl+Shift+A – Shows the current image in a full screen view. To exit this mode, press the
key. - Grid - Ctrl+Alt+G - Toggles the grid view.
- Histogram - F7 – Toggles the histogram palette view.
- History - F3 – Toggles the history palette view.
- Layers - F8 – Toggles the layers palette view.
- Learning Center - F10 - Toggles the learning center view.
- Magnifier - Ctrl+Alt+M - Toggles the magnifier window.
