Photoshop: Make a Wedding Invitation
Creating your own wedding invitations with Photoshop can be a fun and inexpensive way to get the perfect look for that special day. Here we are going to go over some simple steps that you can use to make your own professional wedding invitations.
Start off by creating a new file. The standard size for invitations is 4 x 6 inches but you can set the file size to be any size you wish. For the background color you can set anyone in which you choose but for now just set the background color to white. White backgrounds are a great way to convey your message in a clean and simple way while saving you and your printer the output for full color backgrounds.
Whether you add in an image graphic or not depends on the overall look that you are going for. You can display the text over a watermark image or you can keep it simple and just add a few graphic touches to the design. To find little graphic embellishments, click on the Custom Shape Tool and scroll through the shapes available to find one that fits your design needs.
Next, you will want to choose the Text Tool selection. Insert the Text Tool on your file where you feel that it would look best. Play around with the fonts and sizing under the Text Tool to choose one in which you think will look the best on your invitation. Once you have selected the type of font style and size, type in you wedding information. Whether you use the standard formal format for your invitation or you decide to keep it short and simple, again depends on your style of wedding and what image you want your wedding invitation to reflect when sent out.
When your invitation has the overall look that you are going for, go ahead and save the completed work in one file.
You have two options when it comes to printing your wedding invitations. One, you could print them at home which could be a viable option if you have a smaller wedding party. Two, you can find a local printer and give them your wedding invitation file for a printing on a larger scale. Going to a printer also gives you the ability to create your invitation with a transparent background and then print them on special graphic stock paper.
