A review of Tappy Tunes for iPhone

Overview (1 out of 5)

Tappy Tunes is one of those apps that sounds like a cute idea when you first read about it in the apps store. If you get it then it was probably an impulse of a curiosity purchase. Wrapping your head around the promise of the game is easy enough. You pick a song from the list and tap it out with your fingers. If you want to speed up or slow down the song then all you have to do is tap on the screen either quicker or slower then you are already doing. That is it. That is the whole of the game, no score and nothing else to make Tappy Tunes a bit more interesting. That is all that there is to this novelty-based application.

Song Selection (3 out of 5)

The selection of songs on Tappy Tunes is surprisingly good. Too bad that is not enough to make up for the haphazard concept behind the game. It comes with a total of 60 songs which will be enough to keep you entertained for a short while. The songs range through a wide variety of categories from children’s songs to classical melodies and even a few patriotic classics as well. Mostly they are songs on Tappy Tunes that come from the public domain. Don’t expect to find your favorite pop songs on here though.

The full retail price of Tappy Tunes is currently 99 cents. There is a lite version for free that has only five songs.

Conclusion (1 out of 5)

All in all, you will grow tired of Tappy Tunes very quickly. While it may be a bit entertaining at the beginning of the game, by the time that you are done with trying each of the songs, or at least the ones that you can stand, you will be wondering why exactly you bothered to download it in the first place. This is not exactly an investment app. All in all, I would be sure not to download this application unless you have cash to burn. My advice is to use the Lite version because its free and you will get the idea without having to spend.
