The iPhone’s iPod Buttons
The iPhone iPod section, or the iPod Touch comparatively, is unique when placed against the more traditional iPods. Instead of using a rotating wheel to select folders and options, you have pre-laid buttons that allow you to perform certain actions. When you open it, you are immediately given Playlists, Artists, Songs, Videos, and the peculiar More button. These are not necessarily the buttons that all users would want up there, especially if they are more into checking out Albums. You can customize these settings if you want something other than what comes standard, and it is one of the easier alterations you can make to your new iPhone.
How to Change the iPod Buttons on the iPhone
Go and select the enigmatic More button. From there, you need to press the Edit button that is sitting in the upper left hand corner of the display. This will bring up a configure menu that gives a whole host of options. There are all types of sorting lists here, from the standards like Songs and Videos, to ones that were not originally available, such as Compilations and Audiobooks. Find which one you would like and press down on it and then drag it to the bottom of the screen. Here you can place it on top of one of the existing buttons, and it will replace that button. When you are finished press the Done button in the upper right hand corner of the screen and then you will return to the More menu. Now the buttons at the bottom of the iPod display will be changed according to your preference.
This is an easy way to customize your iPhone even further, keeping it in line with the way you would like it to work. The idea of these new 2G, 3G, and 3GS models is to make them useful to the user for almost all users. This means curtailing them perfectly to the desires of the customer so that they are more intuitive and inline with their use. The process is exactly the same for the iPod Touch, which helps prove that Apple is attempting to revolutionize portable media playing on all of their devices. Buttons are only the beginning for making this happen.
