Transferring Phone Numbers from a BlackBerry to an iPhone

You cannot transfer phone numbers directly from a BlackBerry to an iPhone, however you can sync your contact list from your BlackBerry device to the BlackBerry Desktop Manager, and then to Outlook or Windows Mail. Once the synchronization is done, you can then either sync Outlook with your iPhone or sync Windows Address Book with the iPhone.

Before getting down to the step by step instructions, make sure that you have both BlackBerry Desktop Manager and iTunes installed on your computer.

Transfer Phone Numbers from a Blackberry to an iPhone using Outlook

  • Launch the BlackBerry Desktop Manager.

  • Connect your Blackberry to your computer via a USB cable.

  • Select synchronize from the main menu screen and then select the synchronization option from below the configuration menu from the left side of the window.

  • Click on the synchronization button to configure the synchronization settings.

  • A pop up window will ask you to choose the application you intend to sync. Check the box next to address book. Then choose Outlook and click ok.

  • Next configure how you want to sync. Select the circle next to one way sync from device, click next and click finish to conclude the configuration.

  • Now from the synchronization screen, check the box next to synchronize organizer data. Click synchronize to copy BlackBerry contacts to Outlook.

  • Once the synchronization is complete, unplug your BlackBerry phone from your computer.

  • Now, launch the iTunes program on your computer.

  • Plug in your iPhone via a USB cable to your computer.

  • From the iTunes sidebar, select the iPhone tab. Then click the Info tab and checkmark the box next to sync contacts with Outlook and next select the all contacts option.

  • Lastly, click apply and then Sync. This will copy your phone numbers from Outlook to your iPhone.

  • Unplug your iPhone from the computer when the iPhone sync is complete. OK to disconnect prompt appears.

Transfer Phone Numbers from a BlackBerry to an iPhone without Outlook

If you don’t have Outlook, you can sync your BlackBerry phone numbers with the Windows Mail Address Book. Here’s how you can transfer phone numbers without using Outlook.

  • Launch the BlackBerry Desktop Manager.
  • Connect your Blackberry to your computer via a USB cable.
  • Select synchronize from the main menu screen and then select the synchronization option from below the configuration menu from the left side of the window.
  • Click on the synchronization button to configure the synchronization settings.
  • A pop up window will ask you to choose the application you intend to sync. Check the box next to address book. Then choose Windows Address Book/Mail and click next.
  • Next configure how you want to sync. Select the circle next to one way sync from device, click next and click finish to conclude the configuration settings.
  • Now, select the synchronize tab from the top left of the window and then click on synchronize. Remember that when you click on synchronize, it should say processing.
  • Once the processing is complete, a pop-up will appear asking you to confirm address book edits and select accept.
  • Now, launch the iTunes program on your computer.
  • Plug in your iPhone via a USB cable to your computer.
  • From the iTunes sidebar, select the iPhone tab. Then click the Info tab and checkmark the box next to sync contacts with Windows Address Book and next select the all contacts option.
  • Lastly, click apply and then Sync. It should save your changes, and automatically transfer your phone numbers to your iPhone.
