How to Make Your Own Static Nexus One Wallpapers
For the static wallpaper, you need to have a high-resolution image file which can either be in “.jpg” or “.png” format. The correct size of the image should be 960x800. The image’s DPI is not really important since you only need a higher DPI if you are printing the wallpaper. It’s enough that the image is in the correct size because if not, your wallpaper might appear pixilated.
Once you have the image, you can modify it a bit for improvement in brightness, saturation and the usual stuff that you normal do with images before using them. You can use Photoshop or any other free and open source image editing software.
Once the image is ready, you may now use it as your Nexus One’s wallpaper
How to Make your Own Live Nexus One Wallpapers
While making static Nexus One wallpaper is easy, creating live wallpaper is rather difficult thing to do. You have to be an Android developer since you’ll be working with the Android SDK. Basically, you need to create a WallpaperService.Engine using the Android SDK. This SDK is available to download for free and includes a sample wallpaper which you can use to pattern your own.

Just remember that live wallpapers are known to be power hogs. So, if you don’t want to end up using up your phone’s battery power quickly, you’d be better off with a static wallpaper instead.

Mobile9 - the site has a gallery of nice looking Nexus one wallpapers. Although there are only 70 wallpapers available right now, I’m pretty this is bound to increase in the coming days.

How to Change Nexus One Wallpaper
Once you’ve downloaded the wallpaper on your Nexus One, go to your phone’s home screen and tap on an empty space. Then select “wallpapers” from the options that pops out. Select the wallpaper that you want to use and crop it some more if you want to. Then save.
