This part of the series will show you how to setup your date and time in your Drupal blog. The reason for setting up the time is it will display the date and time of when you posted a new post or someone comments on posts. In this tutorial, I will walk you through setting up your date and time in your Drupal 6 blog.
You will need to login to the admin panel of Drupal. On the left side of your window, you will need to click the Site Configuration link and then click the Date and Time link. After clicking the Date and Time link, you will be carried to the page where you can set it up. Below, I will briefly run through each field with you.
Default Time Zone – This is where you select the time zone that you are in. Drop the box down and make your selection.
User Configurable Time Zone – You can enable this option or disable it. Enabling this option will allow your users to set their own time zone.
First Day of the Week – This field tells the calendar when to start the first day of the week. So, drop this box down and choose which day you want the week to start on.
Short Date Format – This option allows you to select how you want the short date and time to show. You can drop this box down and make your selection. There are many formats to choose from.
Medium Date Format – This option is about the same as the above option, but this is the medium format. Again, drop the box down and make your selection.
Long Date Format – This option is the same as the above two. This will be the full date and time wrote out. Click the box to drop it down and then make your selection by clicking it.
Once you have your date and time set up the way you want it, click the Save Configuration button. Your date and time settings will be saved. You can go back in at any time and adjust the settings.
In the next tutorial of this series, I will show you how to set up your Drupal blocks. Move on to the next part of this series to learn how to manage your blocks in Drupal.
