Using Blogger

Google’s Blogger system is a free and easy way to create your own blog on the web. One of the great things about using Blogger is the dashboard interface that allows the application’s user a lot of control when it comes to publishing content. Everything from the overall theme of the blog, to direct linking colors and even the ability to control post dating, makes the whole process one of the best ways to create an online blog in today’s Internet community.

One of the simplest things that can be done with this application is in changing the dates on your blog posts. Here we are going to take a look at how to manipulate those dates and share how you can turn dates off in blogger in order to remove a time stamp for each blog post that is created.

Blogger’s Dating System

Once logged into your Google Blogger account, the first area you will want to go into is the main dashboard and click on the Settings option. Under the Settings tab on the dashboard is the Formatting open; chose that option. The second showing under the Formatting section will be Date Header Format and next to that title will be a drop down box where you can choose how the date will appear above your blog posts. This Formatting area will also allow you to change the Archive Index Date, Timestamp Format, and Timezone. Another area where you can work on the dating system for posts is under the Posting tab found on the the Settings menu. Here you can click on Post Options at the end of the post you create, where you can manually enter the published date for any set date that you want. If you need to remove the dates altogether from old, current and or new blog posts you can turn off the dates in blogger with just a few simple steps.

In order to turn off the dates in blogger, all you need to do is choose the Design tab from your dashboard after logging in to your account. Once that tab is open, you will need to click on the Edit option in the Blog Posts box and a new window will pop up called Configure Blog Posts. In the image to the left is a screen shot of the Design section, click on the image to get a larger view.

Under the Post Page Options in this new window, you will see a series of check boxes. If you uncheck the first

and third box in the list and then click Save at the bottom of the window. All of the dates and timestamps for all blog posts will be removed. Following these easy instructions is the simplest way to turn off the dates in blogger.
