Blogger Videos

Blogger allows you to embed videos into your blog by pasting the codes of the video into the Edit Html section of the posts. You can add videos from Youtube, Google Videos, or any other video websites that provides the embed videos codes. These videos usually play only when someone clicks on it. However, it is possible to add a little extra code to the default codes to enable the video play to automatically play as soon as the website loads.

Embedded Video Player For Blogger Plays On Page Load

This neat little trick will show you how you can set the embedded video player for Blogger so that it plays on page load vs plays on click. For this, I would suggest that you edit the codes using Notepad (a program in your Windows Accessories), so that you can see what you are doing clearly.

Follow these step-by-step instructions to edit the html codes of the video to make it play on page load. In this particular case, we are going to use as an example, embedding Youtube video into your blog.

Step 1: Select the Youtube video that you want to install into your blog and click the button Embed. That would make the video codes show up below.

Step 2: Copy and paste the codes into Notepad.

The codes would look something like this:

Step 3: Add to the end of the url “&autoplay=1” (without the inverted commas).

After adding the codes, it would look something like this:

Now the codes are ready to be added to your blog.

Adding Youtube Videos To Blogger

Adding Youtube videos to Blogger is a breeze, after you have done the above alterations to your video codes. Just copy the above altered codes and paste them into your blog (in the Edit Html section of the post). Publish the post and click to view it. Voila! The video will start playing as soon as the page loads, without anyone having to click it at all.

However, I must add a note of warning that some visitors may find this feature annoying and may quickly close the browser, if the video suddenly plays on page load without them clicking play to enable it to play. It could be that the visitors had not silenced the speakers, as they had not expected the video to start playing without warning. They might have surfed the internet at an inconvenient time for the video to play loudly for example in the office where they were supposed to be working, in the bedroom while the baby or spouse is sleeping, also a library or classroom where they are supposed to be silent.
