Method:

Grind the witch hazel leaves until powdered. Combine all the dry ingredients in a pestle with a mortar until you get a smooth and even paste. Add in your favorite powdered herb or essential oil (rosemary, mint, eucalyptus, rose, etc.) and blend until smooth. Put paste into a deep metal bowl and gently stir in the distilled water until the mixture is a smooth liquid. Use 1-3 teaspoons for a bath, adding it in whilst the bath is still running. Store in a glass container with a tight lid in a cool and dark cupboard.

How to Create a Dry Bubble Bath

A dry bubble bath recipe is easier to make. You use the same ingredients as for the liquid version, but omit the distilled water. You can either store it in sterilized mason jars in your fridge for a month or use a dehydrator to remove all of the final liquid from it, storing it in mason jars for up to a year. Use only ½-1 ½ teaspoons of dry mixture for a bath, adding it underneath the pouring water to ensure that it mixes properly.

Make organic homemade bubble bath for yourself, or as gifts for your friends and family. You are providing an eco-friendly, natural product for your skin, while also preventing the addition of synthetic chemicals into the ecosystem. And, as with almost all green, DIY projects, you’ll save a little money as well!
