How to Reuse an Empty Ketchup Bottle

Ketchup is a staple in almost every kitchen, which means many bottles end up in the garbage or recycling after the ketchup is finished. An empty ketchup bottle is one of those items you may not think twice about discarding, but it can be useful to hold onto. Instead of tossing it out, there are several ways to reuse it.

Use it to mix your own marinade or salad dressing

Instead of mixing all of your ingredients into a bowl when you are making a homemade salad dressing or marinade, put them right into an empty ketchup bottle. As soon as all of your ingredients are in the bottle, tightly close the top. You can then thoroughly shake up the ingredients without worrying that they will spill or splash. All of the ingredients will mix together with no problem and you can use the ketchup bottle as a dispenser.

Create extra room in your fridge

If you prefer to buy the larger bottle of ketchup, but have no room to store it in your fridge, the smaller bottle can come in handy. Squeeze the ketchup from the larger bottle to the smaller one and you will have no problem fitting the bottle into your fridge. You can do the same thing with other bulk condiment items as well.

Use it as a watering bottle for your plants

Instead of using a large watering can or a cup, consider using an empty ketchup bottle. It can be easier to hold for those that have problems with their hands and it is much easier to control the water flow than if you were to use a cup. In addition, if you want to leave the bottle filled with water and store it near your plants, it will take up much less room than a watering can.
