So who uses LinkedIn? Well, the simple answer is everyone. Currently, LinkedIn has around 100 million members and users that are signed on the site, either individually or as part of a business. According to the 2011 information and statistics for the site, the demographics are as such -
- Men - 58.9%
- Women - 41.1%
- Ages 18-24 - 20.9%
- 25-34 - 35.8%
- 35-54 - 36.3%
- 54+ - 6.9%
As you can see, the social site is nearly an even split between men and women, though there are more men involved with the site than women for the moment. The biggest users are that of the 25 to 54 age groups, those who of course will be within the age of working either full time or part time either within an office environment or that of being self employed, however it should be noted that newcomers to the business world, those of the newly college graduates, are only third when it comes to that of the site's members.
For the demographics in regards to which country uses the website, the United States and that of Canada - grouped together as North America - make up the majority of members, with over 47%, while Europe - consisting of the UK, Italy, France, Spain, and others - is second at only 22%. This however does not mean that other countries do not use the site - Asia, Africa, Latin America, and the Middle East are also members of the website.
