ADATA memory cards may not have the best track record in high performance situations, but they offer high capacity, high speed data transfers, security and compatibility. They are known to have a lower price compared to other popular memory card brands. If you are thinking of buying ADATA memory cards and you are having doubts because of negative feedback about their performance, here are short descriptions of their strengths and what they can offer.

    SD and SDHC Cards

Complying to Secure Digital, or SD, standards, ADATA's SD and SDHC (Secure Digital High Capacity) memory cards are totally compatible with all digital cameras, DSLRs and video camcorders that support the SD format. The SD memory card format is one of the most popular formats of storage among electronic devices, making ADATA SD cards a great tool in data transfer across multiple devices of different types. This makes image and video sharing easy whether it is for personal use or for professional tasks. These cards are designed to be secure, thanks to their write-protection switch, and reliable, thanks to their high capacity, Error Correcting Code support, and In-System Programming which is a feature that lets users easily update the card's firmware so compatibility will never be a serious issue.

    ADATA SD cards series:

    • ADATA SD Card is compatible with the newest digital cameras. Its storage capacity is 2GB and it can save more than 600 jpeg photos in high-resolution. For simple personal use, this memory card is for you.
    • ADATA SDHC Class 2 is compatible with digital cameras and high-end DSLR cameras. Its maximum capacity is 8GB which can save more than 2,400 high-resolution jpeg images. The minimum data transfer rate for this class is 2MB/s.
    • ADATA SDHC Class 4 has the same storage capacity with Class 2 which is 8MB while its transfer rate is faster at 4MB/s.
    • ADATA SDHC Class 6 is recommended for high resolution digital electronic devices which conforms to SDHC specifications. It can store up to 9,600 high-resolution jpeg images. Class 6's read speed is 16MB/s while its write speed is 9MB/s.
    • ADATA SDHC Class 10 is the Turbo speed series with high read speed of 20MB/s and write speed of 16MB/s. With its turbo speed and 32GB high storage capacity, Class 10 SDHC is highly recommended for full HD video recording and latest digital cameras with high megapixels.

    CF Cards

Although CompactFlash, or CF, is one of the oldest formats of memory cards, a lot of devices are still compatible with it, even the newer ones. ADATA offers CF cards that offer high performance and high speed while being compliant to the standards set by the CompactFlash Association. With fast transfer speeds, it is no wonder that CF cards are still being used, and ADATA makes sure that it produces CF cards that can be used in a range of electronic devices such as digital cameras and camcorders while carrying the legacy of high speed and high performance qualities of CF cards. Like the other types of ADATA memory cards, ADATA's CF cards offer security and compatibility via In-System Programming and Error Correcting Code support. In addition to this standard feature of all memory cards under the ADATA banner, their CF cards feature Static Wear-Leveling technology, which is something that extends the lifespan of the memory cards by preventing frequent writes to the same flash cells.

ADATA CE533X and the ADATA CF633X are the two amazing 32GB CF cards which are made with Ultra Direct Memory Access or UDA mode. UDA or Ultra DMA/33 is a protocol for data transfer which allows CE533X to read at 80MB/s write speed and 50MB/s read speed; and CE633X at 97MB/s write speed and 95 MB/s read speed. This is recommended for experts who like to capture continuous high-resolutions photography with high-end DSLR cameras or record full HD videos without full memory interruption.
