Think is freeware for Mac OS X that helps you remove the distractions from your computer so you can focus on one application at a time. While it is pretty simple it can be helpful if you aren't good at concentrating.

You can download Think at this website. After the file has mounted on your desktop (you'll need to open it with Stuffit or another expander), all you have to do is open it, copy Think into your Applications folder and use. There is even a handy Adobe Acrobat guide for use if you need any help getting started. That is a definite plus!

Think is really very simple. It allows users to block out all applications besides the one in use. To do this you must open Think and choose which application you want to focus on. The Think dock (which launches with Think) features the Finder, TextEdit, Mail and your web browser. With the Finder you can choose a specific application if the one you wanted to focus on is not there. Once you have the application ready, just dim or brighten the Think side bar (which dims and brightens the screen behind the chosen app) to how you'd like it and get to work. That's it! The standard background color is black, but you can change that if you'd like.

If you want to choose a new app it gets a little bit annoying. You have to click on Think in the dock (the normal dock not Think's dock) and then choose another application. While it doesn't take that much time, it isn't very intuitive either.

If you are easily distracted and need something to force you to focus on one thing at a time, Think might be perfect for you. However, I honestly don't see the point. If I don't want to be distracted by other applications, I don't open them, simple as that. How useful you find Think depends on your personality.

Think works, which is a good thing. If you think you will benefit from using it, go ahead. It is freeware so you won't loose any money.
