The blue-white star Deneb is an extremely luminous supergiant that belongs to the Cygnus constellation (Alpha Cygni). The name of the bright star in Cygnus also denotes its position in the constellation; the tail of the swan. The star belongs to the Summer Triangle and North Cross constellations as well. The best time to observe it is during the summer months and it is only visible from northern latitude regions. Deneb is currently very energetic compared to other similar A-type stars. Eventually, it will grow larger evolving into a red supergiant and will finally end up exploding as a supernova in a few million years.
