The Spider Computer Concept: The Ultimate Portable Computer?

The spider computer concept by Ericsson uses projection technology to project both a display and a keyboard, while all other functions of the computer are run from a small cylindrical shell on a tripid (hence "spider".) While it's an interesting projection of technology in the year 2020, there are serious problems, not just with shrinking down hardware such as hard drives, wifi cards and the like, but also with consumer preferences. You need flat, blank surfaces to project on, and for situations where portability is required, this means you'd likely be projecting onto blank walls while in public as opposed to having the relative privacy of your own laptop screen. Furthermore, many people are resistant to laser keyboards.
