What is the SeaMonkey Project?
SeaMonkey Composer is part of the SeaMonkey Project, produced by Mozilla. The SeaMonkey Project is an "all-in-one Internet application Suite." Within the Project users will find an Internet browser, a newsgroups and email client, and the HTML editor. The browser, Navigator, is similar to Firefox, the email client is similar to Thunderbird, and the HTML editor, Composer, is similar to many open source WYSIWYG programs such as NVU or BlueFish. It also includes a chat program, known as ChatZilla. Composer is designed for those who are completely new to web design. Mozilla provides a variety of add-ons for the SeaMonkey Navigator to fully customize the browisng experience. These add-ons are available directly from the Mozilla Add Ons site where add ons are found for Firefox.
The most current version available is 1.1.17. Versions are available for Windows, Mac, and Linux. A 2.0 beta version is currently being tested. Volunteers have contributed several localized versions in the following languages:

SeaMonkey Composer Features
SeaMonkey Composer features an easy-to-use WYSIWYG interface. It's simple for people to use without any experience in web design. For individuals with experience with Adobe Dreamweaver, this program is very easy to use because it works in a similar manner. Composer supports editing HTML and CSS. It is a primitive program because HTML form elements cannot be added directly into the program document, but they can be copied and pasted from another. A browser preview can be seen from within the program in addition to HTML code and HTML tag views. Though the program isn't very advanced in features, it is a great way for beginners to get started learning--and most certainly belongs in the Internet Suite.
