Mepis is a Debian-based Linux distribution. Mepis is a LiveCD, though you can install it to your hard drive and use it from there. This is a beginner-friendly distro because it comes with almost anything a user will need, yet it is not cluttered with programs you might never use. Basically you have what you need but you don't have tons of useless applications.
Mepis comes with the KDE desktop environment but you can change it to something else, if you like. Learning Mepis isn't very difficult but still some user-friendly resources about this are always helpful. This is why we have gathered such resources in this guide.
