Starsiege Tribes is a first-person squad-based action game, where players can participate in team battles against one or more rival clans. The player has to destroy enemy bases, grab and defend specific spots on the maps provided in the PC game. Starsiege Tribes includes around 40 maps. The bases are scattered on each map.
Choice of weapons and equipment are many. You can select light, medium, or heavy armor, and you will be provided with relevant weapons. You must be very careful in long-distance combats however, as the weapons in Starsiege Tribes offer firing options at relatively short distances.
The player can repair his equipment kits, fix his damaged consoles, and energy stations. Various types of consoles can change his armor and weapons configurations. You have three choices of aircrafts - scout, medium, and heavy. The single player scout craft has great speed and explosive rockets. Larger crafts can accommodate more players for long-range mass attacks. There are a number of training missions available for players to get more experience.

The PC game incorporates excellent 3D graphics. The landscapes on the maps look great with hills and open spaces. The base stations can be clearly spotted on the maps. Graphics are not so great however, in terms of character design. Multiplayer modes can be customized, but not the single player mode. This can disappoint those who want to play solo.

The audio quality is not that good. The words describing the script are barely clear enough. But at least it is audible. You can understand the voice commands. I think that is okay since this is what is ultimately required in this action game. You can do away with the sound though if necessary.
