Lego Batman is one of the most fun games in the market, with no dialogue it captivates the player and at the same time it tells a dark story about mass murder and supremacy control of the gangs in Gotham City, and how Batman & Robin have to foil the coup d’état of the different villains.
The story starts when Batman most dangerous adversaries escape from Arkham Asylum, and each of the escapees associate with a classical villain of the Batman Universe; letting the formation of three gangs, one been The Riddle’s Gang, other is The Penguin’s Gang and the last one the Joker’s Gang. Each of the gangs has their own agenda and their own goons to achieve their personal goals, but that’s not all, in every gang there are other villains such as Poison Ivy that will play as sub-bosses of the game, so practically there will be an arsenal of super powered individuals trough the streets of Gotham City that won’t give you an easy time.
The graphics are really neat, simple but yet perfect, they emulate really well the textures and colors of the Lego pieces, you probably would think that the game was developed by scanning pieces of Lego, or doing something like the technique of stop and motion to animate, but even with that technique you will feel that the characters move more fluid because the animated interface give to the characters a more realistic approach, and you feel you are playing an adventure with your old Lego pieces, is really fantastic, you will feel like a child again.
The music is not the strength of this game, is kind of slow even in the most action packed moments; you will feel a slow peace, or a really beat up-tempo in the most dramatic moments, it even sounds cartoonish still the game has many serious topics, and it can take off many serious aspects of the game.
The game controls are really easy to catch, which is something good to a novice player, because they aren’t confusing, but in my opinion the game is best played with a joystick rather than a keyboard, because your hands can get tired really easy when you are fighting the villains and their thugs, but every method of gaming varies with the player so what is good for one it could be terrible to other.
The rate of the gameplay is 8.0/10, due his simplicity and yet elegance at the moment of showing Gotham City in another perspective of not of a dark place, criminal infested city but as a place that can be created by the imagination of a child, and we can feel young again like if we are playing with our Legos, imagining we are cowboys and superheroes with those simple pieces of plastic that jumpstarted our imagination.
