M249 SAW
In case you were wondering, SAW stands for Squad Automatic Weapon. If you can master this weapon, you’ll be a pretty formidable opponent to anyone on the battlefield. Although this gun has a 100-round magazine capacity and a very high rate of fire, it is not all that accurate. It has a bit of recoil, and basically what happens when you shoot is that the gun moves all over the place. It’s great for firing into a crowd of enemies, but can get tough in one-on-one combat. Because it shoots so much and so fast, the individual bullets don’t do as much damage as other weapons. On the plus side, it has a very high penetration rate, thus making it good for shooting people through barriers. This is a good starter gun for gamers who haven’t quite mastered the art of aiming and have to fire a lot of rounds to hit a target.
RPD
The RPD, which stands for Ruchnoy Pulemyot Degtyavara, is based on a Russian gun. This machine gun is available at the start of the game, and is actually one of the better ones in the game, at least in my opinion. It also has a 100-round magazine capacity, but shoots much slower than the SAW. However, it also does more damage per shot and still has a high penetration rate. Best of all, it has a very long range on it. If you want to be able to pick off enemy soldiers from afar, but don’t like the slow reloading times of a sniper rifle, then the RPD is definitely the gun to have.
M60E4
This is based on the M60 machine gun used by the United States. In terms of which is better, there’s sort of a toss-up between this gun and the RPD. Like the other light machine guns, this one has a 100-round magazine capacity. It also deals more damage per shot than the other two guns. However, it has the slowest rate of fire and has a very high recoil rate. The best way to use this gun is not to spray bullets everywhere, but instead concentrate on making short bursts. Because of its high damage, a few shots into the head or upper body of an opponent should be enough to put them down. This gun will take a lot of practice to get used to, but that’s because it is the most powerful one in the online multiplayer game.
