Call of Duty: World at War, also known as Call of Duty 5, employs a Rank and Challenge system that you might compare to the character leveling system in a role playing game. The seventh, and final, set of challenges are called Elite Challenges and mainly focus on performing tricks and involve a lot of random occurrences. Some of these you can set out to accomplish while others will just happen as you play. Completing these will help you earn experience points toward increasing your rank and unlocking better weapons and accessories, but there are currently no more challenges after these.
Hard Landing – Kill an enemy while he is in mid-air.
This one is pretty easy because you can usually catch somebody climbing over something and jumping down, or just jumping off stuff.
Fast Swap – Hurt an enemy with the primary weapon, then finish them off with a pistol.
The easiest way to get this one is with the Last Chance perk enabled. You better shoot fast and steady, though.
Star Player – Play an entire match with a 5:1 kill/death ratio.
This means for every time that you get killed in combat, you need to have killed at least five enemies. Trust me, it’s a tough one to do.
How the ? – Kill an enemy by using bullet penetration to shoot an explosive device through a wall.
This is one you may get by accident just from trying to shoot somebody through a wall. Just aim low and you might get it.
Dominos – Kill an enemy by setting off a chain reaction of explosions.
There are some maps where multiple cars or exploding barrels are nearby where you can cause the chain reaction. It will also work if you can get a grenade to set off another explosive while someone is nearby.
Invincible – Get 5 health generations from enemy damage in a row, without dying.
This one isn’t too hard. Just remember to seek cover for a few seconds after you’ve been hit. Falling damage does not count toward this one.
The Edge – Get the last kill in a match.
This one is hard to do when everybody is trying to kill each other. Just keep trying and you’ll eventually get it. Sometimes I like to throw a grenade right before the clock runs out, just in the hope it’ll catch an enemy at the last second.
Desperado – Kill an enemy with the last bullet in your clip.
This is one you’ll probably get by accident just from running around and shooting. In a hardcore match, it’s hard to even tell when you are down to your last bullet.
