CoD5 Operations Challenges

Call of Duty: World at War, also known as Call of Duty 5, employs a Rank and Challenge system that you might compare to the character leveling system in a role playing game. The second set of challenges is called Operations and mainly focus on the number of times you are on the winning side of a match. Completing these will help you earn experience points toward increasing your rank and unlocking better weapons and accessories, plus some new challenges.

Free-for-All Victor I-III – Place in the Top 3 in 1, 5, and 15 Free-For-All Matches.

The free-for-all games are where every man is for himself and there are no teams. This means everybody is a target. These games tend to be fast and chaotic, but are a good way to get a bunch of experience points. Landing in the top 3 can be tough, but you’ll get it eventually.

Team Player I-III – Win 5, 15, and 30 Team Deathmatch Matches.

Team Deathmatch seems to be the most popular online game type on CoD5. This is where you have two groups of armies and you fight each other for the most number of kills.

Headquarters Victor I-III – Win 5, 15, and 30 Headquarters Matches.

The HQ matches are cool in that you have bases that randomly pop up around the map, so you have to lock them down for your team.

Domination Victor I-III – Win 5, 15, and 30 Domination Matches.

The Domination matches are sort of like HQ, except the bases are always in the same place throughout the map. You dominate the other team by taking over all their bases and holding them. I’ve found this match type to be fairly unpopular online because people camp the bases.

Sabotage Victor I-III – Win 5, 20, and 50 Sabotage Matches.

Sabotage matches play sort of like a variant on Capture the Flag, except you are transporting bombs instead of flags. These matches can be tough due to the amount of time it takes to plant and/or diffuse a bomb.

War Victor I-III – Win 5, 15, and 30 War Matches.

A War match is a lot like Domination in that you have to capture bases, but it alternates between which base you must capture and you get perks in mid-game for how fast a flag can be recaptured. It goes back and forth a lot more, but is equally fun.

Capture the Flag Victor I-III – Win 5, 15, and 30 Capture the Flag Matches.

These matches are crazy and fun because you have to run into an enemy base, grab their flag, then carry it all the way back to your own flag base to get the capture point for your team. However, you don’t get the point if the enemy also has your flag. This type match works best when you use teamwork to cover the flag carrier.
