The Sims 2 - Basic Overview of Game Play

The Sims 2 is a very popular sequel to the well loved game, The Sims. It is programmed to authentically replicate life as we know it by allowing you to live a virtual life using a personalized character to do so. You can have a job, go to school, have a relationship, adopt children, and even die in this game. The goal of Sims 2 is pretty open, meaning you can play all you want, but if you intend to play with the same character for a long time then you must be sure to keep your character active, happy, and loved by others.

Sims 2 is a well known real life simulator computer game that was developed by Maxis and published by Electronic Arts, otherwise known as EA games in 2004. When playing the Sims 2 game you will quickly see that this is a game that is designed to simulate actual life by letting you form relationships, have careers, buy, sell, and build just about anything. Your Sim character can even attend school and College! Basically, anything that could be done in real life can be done within the game environment.

The Sims 2 is very similar to its first version, "The Sims", in many ways except for a few key changes. The original game has an open game goal which means that you can just play all you want and there is really no end to the game at all. The Sims 2 has a few extra goal functions such as life goals, wants, and fears, all of which can affect your game play both positively and negatively.

When playing this game your character will have many different stages of life that it goes through: baby, toddler, child, teen, adult, elder and even a life stage for the afterlife. The average life of a Sims character is 100 Sim days and in some cases you can extend that. But eventually, all characters must pass on - but have no fear because you can always start a new character.

There are many things you can do with your character. For instance, when you are in the adult stage you can choose to adopt babies or children. You must be careful in doing so because if you do not make sure that the child is well cared for - for example if you stupidly leave your baby alone - you will quickly find that there will be a social worker that comes to take your baby and/or babies/children away

The happier your character remains - the better off your character will be. Each character has the ability to learn new skills and has to carry on with its life properly throughout the game. So as long as your character follows the rules and plays it safe your game play should be quite fun.
