Seafight - One Great Free MMO Game

Seafight is a free to play, browser based MMO game that will have you living the life of a pirate on the high seas. When you start out in the game, you will start off with a small number of pearls (which are used to buy elite items and other necessities in the game), and a ship. It is your responsibility to gather up a crew and the resources that you need to start questing and fight monsters. The interface of the game is very easy to learn and a few clicks here and there will show you everything you need to know by just exploring the different areas of the interface. In each section, you can simply click on the item that you want to know about and it will pop up the item, the description, and what that item does for you, your ship, or crew. To me, this is a super plus, as it makes the game easier for new players to learn and see what it is that they really need.

Once you have your ship set, your crew and gear in place, and a quest ready to rock and roll, you can then click on the game portal and in you go. One other great thing about the game is that for the first 10 levels, you won't get attacked by other players. Now, as you move up past level 2, you can enter areas where you can fight against others, but not if you don't want to. This is a plus, as most players that are fighting against others have massive ships and resources and can easily blow away smaller ships. So, you head out and do your quests for the most experience and kill monsters along the way. But, it's actually really easy to level up and get newer, bigger, better ships. And, you can always buy pearls in the item mall with PayPal or other online currency sites. So, it's pretty easy to move up in levels and get the things that you want.

So, for the game itself, I give it a 4 out of 5. I like it, and I play it a lot - see if you can find me in game.

Ok, so the game lacks a bit here. But, hey - it's a free MMO game - you don't have to download anything, you don't have to pay for anything - totally free. So, that to me is worth the graphics being a bit less than I'd like. I mean, they aren't bad by any means, just a little less than what I'm use to. The ship movements are a bit choppy, and the mobs don't move at all. But, the interface's graphics are great, everything is really life-like and detailed, which makes it nice. So, really it's just the graphics on the game itself while you are in the water fighting that lack a bit.

So, in terms of graphics, I score this one a 3 out of 5.

Ok, here is one of the downfalls of the game. The item mall for specific things and in-game currency is completely crap. Everything is priced way too high - from the pearls to the packages - and even the cheapest thing won't really make that much of a difference in how you play the game. The good point is that when you buy something, it's instantly delivered to your toon in game, so you can use it right away if you seriously need something. But, in terms of selection - yeah, they don't have it. I have played other free MMO games where you can purchase items from their mall and they had so much stuff that it was actually hard to pick something out. Or, the currency was really cheap so you could load up and then get the in-game items you wanted from the auction house without spending too much. So, to go to a free game that didn't offer much at all in their item mall, it's a bit disappointing. And, in terms of pricing, yeah, it's not cheap. So, for this part of the game, I only score it a 2 out of 5.

Well, let's pick it back up a bit before we end this review. Overall, Seafight is fun. I love it, and I play it a lot. The only real problem in game that I completely don't like is the fact that other players can gank your kill by coming up, waiting til you have your last shot or so and taking it from you. When this happens, you lose all your ammo you wasted on that mob and whatever reward you would have gotten. This part stinks. But, other than that - I love this free MMO game. I recommend it to anyone who wants a good game that they can play anywhere without downloading a bunch of stuff on their computer or laptop, and I'd recommend that you head out and start up an account now too.
