Guild Wars: Skill Hunter and Legendary Skill Hunter Title Guide

The Ultimate Guide to Guild Wars will allow players to dive into the game like never before. Titles in Guild Wars are a way to show off a player’s achievements and accomplishments in the game. There are a total of 44 different title tracks across all the Guild Wars campaigns; Prophecies, Factions, Nightfall, and Eye of the North. However, players can only achieve a maximum of 43 on any given character. The two titles that collide with each other are Survivor and Defender of Ascalon. You cannot get Defender of Ascalon without dying and you cannot die to get Survivor. So to get one the character will miss out on getting the other.

Titles are displayed under the Guild Wars character’s name. To view titles in progress or to see those that are completed tap the “h” key while in game and a screen will come up with a tab that allows you an overview of all your titles. Players can also change which title is displayed on their character from this screen as well.

The Skill Hunter and Legendary Skill Hunter titles are core titles that can be obtained in any of the campaigns; there is one specific

Skill Hunter title for each campaign; Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall. The main focus to obtain the Skill Hunter titles is to capture all of the elite skills from the bosses. Completing all of the Skill Hunter titles will earn a player the Legendary Skill Hunter title.

 

• Prophecies – 90 Elite Skills – Tyrian Elite Skill Hunter
• Factions – 120 Elite Skills – Canthan Elite Skill Hunter
• Nightfall – 140 Elite Skills – Elonian Elite Skill Hunter

 

• Legendary Skill Hunter - Completed every Skill Hunter title (3)

 

Players will need to capture 290 elite skills across all three campaigns; Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall.

 

The character attempting this title will need to have each second profession available in the games.

 

The character attempting this title will need to be ascended, completed Hunted! quest, or be Weh no Su.

 

Start by getting all the core elite skills because these will count as 30 points towards each Skill Hunter title; Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall.

 

Use this time to explore the region and area the bosses are located in. Most times these bosses are in hard to reach areas and this is a good time to work on the Cartographer title as well.

 

Every title in Guild Wars is a direct reflection of how that person plays his or her personal game. Some titles focus on Player versus Environment (PvE), others focus on social orientation, and then some on Player versus Player (PvP) game play. The list of titles seems almost endless.

 

Skill Hunter

Focus on the core skills first and then do one campaign at a time; Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall, until all the elite skills are captured. See if there is more than one boss offering elite skills in an area to save time. There are typically multiple bosses that will offer the same skill so if you are having trouble getting the boss killed or getting to the boss try another. Make sure to have a Signet of Capture available at all times while trying for this title. You never know when a boss will pop up with an elite skill you need.

 

If this is the second character on an account to get the Skill Hunter title then Elite Skill Tomes may be used.
