A Players Guide on How to Get Pirate Faction Ships in Eve Online

The player character racial factions all give out their own ships, A pilot looking for status and style may want to purchase the blueprints that allow him to make a pirate faction ship. All he needs is the right faction standing and the right equipment.

Faction Ships Introduction

The Caldari Raven, the Gallente Megathron, the Amarr Apocalypse, and the Minmatar Typhoon are the racial faction ships. Other NPC factions offer tship blueprints to players that faction's trust. The Serpentis Faction offers a ship that modifies the Megathron design, but the Serpentis faction is not the only pirate faction that gives blueprints to players.

A pilot must earn the enough faction standing with each group before he can earn a blueprint ship. A list of the factions that hand out blueprints is included here for the convenience of the reader.

Each faction's agents have their own price for the individual ship blueprints. In addition to the faction requirements, the agent may ask for pirate dog tags, trade goods, or another ship. A pilot most also turn in a certain number of the appropriate Nexus chips before he can buy a faction ship.

Even if a pilot has a high enough faction standing, an agent might not give a pilot faction ship blueprints. Agents will offer pilots ten random items based on his standing with the faction.

Eve Online Pirate Ship Prices

Most Eve Online players will be interested in acquiring the battleship. Each ship blueprint has its own faction requirement and specific cost. The Eve Insider website has more detailed information about the requirements for frigates, cruisers, and battleships.

Benefits of Eve Pirate Faction Ships and a Listing of Each Type

Eve Online faction ships are slightly less useful than the tech level 2 ships with the same requirements. Many players collect these ships as status symbols or because they look cool. Properly fitted ships can enhance the usefulness of the pirate faction ships, but they will always be behind tech level two ships in performance and functionality.

Many pirate faction ships are modeled after the tech two racial factions' naval ships. How a pilot equips each ship depends on his race as the pirate faction ships do not typically require one of the ship racial piloting skills. A player can look on the Eve fan sites to find suggested builds for each ship listed in this article.

A pilot usually must turn in a certain number of Nexus chips in addition to dog tags or credits to buy the blueprints for these vessels. Pirate ship blueprints are earned as a reward for performing storyline missions for pirate faction agents.

How Useful are the Eve Online Pirate Faction Ships?

The faction ships listed in this article are named tech level one ships. They outperform unnamed tech level one ships, but will be outperformed by unnamed tech level two ship. They will perform their tasks better than an unnamed tech level one ship will, but they fall under the performance of a tech level two ship. Because of the introduction of a new tech level, there are better ships available in the universe. Some components for the newer ships are found only in Eve's wormhole space.
