Runescape Skill: Fletching

The ability to make bows, arrows, darts and other items is called Fletching. It is a members’ skill that is very helpful as a compliment to the Ranged skill. You can sell many of the items that you can make in this skill for a profit.

• Regular Bows – These can be either a short bow or a long bow. For a short bow, you’ll need a fletching level of 5 and you will get 10 experience for making it. For the long bow, you’ll need a fletching level of 10 and you will get 20 experience for making it.
• Oak Bows – Oak bows can be a short bow or a long bow. For the short bow, you’ll have to have a fletching skill of 20 and it will give you 33 experience for making it. For the long bow, you’ll have to have a fletching skill of 25 and it will give you 50 experience for making it.
• Composite Ogre Bow – For a composite ogre bow you will have to have a fletching level of 30 to create. It will give you an additional 90 in fletching experience for creating it.
• Willow Bows – Willow bows will either be a short bow or a long bow. For a short bow, you are going to have to have a fletching level of 35 and you will pick up 66.6 in experience. For a long bow, you are going to have a fletching level of 40 and you will pick up 83 in experience.
• Maple Bows – These are going to be either short or long bows. For the short bow you are going to need a level of 50 in fletching and they will net you 100 more experience. For the long bow you are going to need a level of 55 in fletching and they will net you 116.6 more experience.
• Yew Bows – You can get these made in either short or long bows. For the short bow it will require you to have a skill level of 65 in fletching and it will give you 137 in experience. For the long bow it will require you to have a skill level of 70 in fletching and it will give you 150 in experience.
• Magic Bows – These are either short bows or long bows. For the short bow you are going to need a level of 80 in fletching and it will net you 166.6 in experience. For the long bow you are going to need a level of 85 and it will net you 183 in experience.

Crossbows take not only Fletching, but Smithing, Crafting, and Cooking as well. You must carve a crossbow stock and then make some metal crossbow limbs. After you get those, you will need to add string using a cooking recipe to make the crossbow string. Then string up your unfinished crossbow and you’ll have a crossbow to use. To make arrows to use with the bows you can fletch, you will need to first make arrow shafts out of logs. After you have the shafts you’ll add feathers and then arrow heads. Arrow heads can be smithed or bought. Arrows need a certain level and will give experience (experience is for the entire set of logs, not per arrow).

• Bronze Arrows – These need a level of 1 and they will give 19.5 experience.
• Iron Arrows – These need a level of 15 and they will give 37.5 experience.
• Steel Arrows – These arrows will need a level of 30 and they give out 75 experience.
• Mithril Arrows – These must take a level of 45 and they will give you a 112.5 experience.
• Adamantite Arrows – These need a level of 60 and they will give you 150 experience.
• Rune Arrows – These arrows will need a level of 75 and will get you 187.5 experience.

Arrows can be repaired with the fletching and the construction skill if you have a repair bench. When you repair an arrow you will get a few experience points, eight of them.
