The "Narutimate Hero" series, also known as the "Ultimate Ninja" series, kicked off with a rocky beginning when it first began, however, the franchise became more and more appealing with each game. Here is your look into Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja 4.

'Ultimate Ninja' just keeps getting better and better...

Ultimate Ninja 4 has Naruto returning to Konoha after his two and half year training with Jaraiya. He is now fifteen years old whereas he was twelve during the last time we saw him. The meat of the plot here focuses on Naruto seeking out Saseke while the Akasuki continue their own search for the Jinchiruuki people whom have the demons contained within them. Those Naruto fans that are familiar with the story line in the movies, cartoon shows, and books will appreciate the attention to detail that is in the Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja 4 story line, let's hope that it doesn't confuse those that don't follow the out-of-game story too closely.

Sound and Audio

Game CoverThis is perhaps the one biggest issue that detracts from this Naurto video game, well, maybe not entirely. I don't have a problem with Japanese music, but I do have a problem with it sounding so cliche like all the rest of them do (for the most part, that is). Perhaps, if they switched to some more upbeat tracks then that would help. So, I would probably recommend playing Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja 4 with the sound off, if you don't mind reading the dialogue or turning up the sound during those times when you need to hear what is being said.

Graphics In Naruto Shippuden

Screenshot 1The game presents itself in a professionally well-designed manner with its cell shading, character impressions, and even the little things like the clashing of fire and water. The colors are right on for the characters and the environments in Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja 4. Overall, it's almost like you are a star on the show itself, as if you are actually a piece of the anime action, and I give the graphics in this Naruto game a solid 10 out of 10.

Ultimate Ninja 4 Game Play

Screenshot 2Ultimate Ninja 4 has matured to a slightly more sophisticated level since its predecessor, "Ultimate Ninja 3". The fighting, which is the biggest star of this game's gameplay, now has a quicker pace with accurately timed matches that rely on a player's skill level. The controls are quite simple - X is jump, Triangle with Circle is specials, Square is use items, and Circle is attack. Not complicated whatsoever, which is something that makes Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja 4 a great game for gamers of any age.

Overall Gamer Score - 9 our of 10

Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja 4 is perfect for any 'Naruto' fanatic and it is a great game that is difficult for practically anybody to get tired of playing. The problem with all of the anime games that are being released out there is that there is only one particular audience being drawn in and these people will pretty much take anything this industry shoves down their throats, even if it's terrible. "Ultimate Ninja" was one of video games that fell victim to this early in its franchise life but has thankfully improved with each sequel and, in this fourth entry, the problem is well underway of being solved.
