A lot of emphasis has been put on fighting in Dissidia: Final Fantasy, but unfortunately they didn't put as much energy or time into Dissidia's basic combat system and mechanics. The combat mechanics that are included can be remarkably unsatisfying at times and even frustrating for the casual gamer to implement in an entertaining way. The erratic camera arrangement, shallow mechanics and unreliable commands for performing the specific attacks included in this video game can make executing battle tactics and strategy during the combat very difficult to achieve. Also, unlocking new moves, equipment, and costumes involves grinding through the repetitive story mode, which can become tedious after awhile. Square Enix also used a shoddy board game framework for this video game that moves you from fight to fight. Playing the story mode in a fighting game sounds pointless, but the restrictions on two player matches leaves you with few options.
