It seems that plenty of old school favorites are returing to the big screen and your game console, and G.I. Joe proves to be no different. Here is your preview of G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra.

G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra

gi joe box When I heard that this game was coming out, I couldn't help but get excited. I had plenty of these action figures in my collection when I was younger and watched the cartoons and all that jazz. So, when I started to hear the rumors that G.I. Joe would be gracing my gaming console, well, I had to take notice. Here is the good thing about this upcoming game, you'll find it on the Wii, PS3, PS2, PSP, and even PC's - so just about anyone will be able to grab up and play it.

With a new toy line and a movie coming out in the summer of 2009, it's a great time to release a console game to boost sales. Let's just hope that the game lives up to all the hype.

Story Line
Rating Excellent

EA has already let loose so many great screen shots and much about the game that it looks like it's shaping up to be a good one. The game itself will pick up where the movie leaves off, which means that you'll be playing new material, and not what you watched in the movie like in other games. Another good point, the beginning of the game won't spoil the movie for you, so when it releases, you can easily grab it up and play without worrying about messing up the movie for yourself.

The game itself is broken up into different campaigns that cover a ton of different types of terrain, so you shouldn't get bored. You'll have the option of desert, jungles, cities, and even the vast cold of the arctic. From the images that I've seen so far of G.I. Joe, it looks like a vamped up version of Contra with the advantages of a great arcade style FPS.

You'll get to choose between 12 different G.I. Joe classic characters, each with their own special weapon and abilities to help you kick some Cobra butt. And, from what EA has released so far, there will also be four Cobra characters that you'll be able to play as well. There are both male and female characters that we all grew up with, some of everyone's favorites, such as Storm Shadow, Snake Eyes, and Heavy Duty.
