Miss the good old days of Super Mario on the old school Nintendo? Well, Starfy promises to return you to some of that great old school action that we all know and love. But just how does it stack up?

The Game

starfy box Starfy is yet one more toon in a long line of lovable Nintendo characters that we have all come to know and love. With his star-shaped sweetness, how can you resist giving this game a spin? The Legendary Starfy is a 2D platform game for the Nintentdo DS developed by TOSE, and is actually the fifth game in the Starfy series in Japan. Now that the game, and it's star, have made it to the US, how will it fair here? Well, so far, so good Starfy.

Story Line
Rating Excellent

Starfy is the prince of Pufftop, which is a cute little kingdom in the clouds. Everything is going along fine until a bunny in a space suit comes to visit and lets Starfy know that he's being chased by Shadow Goons. Starfy manages to send the goons flying with his sweet spinning attack, and his best friend, Moe, also decides to get in on the action. The two turn to talk to the bunny about the problem only to find that the bunny has taken off, diving deep down into the ocean below. The only course of action? Starfy and his buddies go in after him.

During the course of the game, the story will unfold as you go through all of the different areas to try and catch up with the bunny. You'll come across tons of characters - some friendly, and some not - that will help you through the game as well. You'll even find that your sister, Starly, will eventually come to help you on your quest as well, which makes the game even funner. When you do find Bunston the bunny, he and Starfy can team up and Starfy will become this monstrous fire-breathing thing that can defeat anything. So for the overall story line of the Legendary Starfy, I give it a 5 out of 5 as it's original and unique - even if it is a platform game.
