One of the game's major strengths is the variety of gameplay that it offers. Yes, it is your usual hack and slash type of gameplay but your enemies are no push-over. Going on a killing spree and taking your character on rampage to eliminate enemy guards maybe a bit easy at times but wait till you meet the level bosses. Before you get to them, you have to eliminate the guards, and while eliminating the guards, the bosses themselves will start pounding on you hoping to reduce your character's health before finally facing them. Another thing that adds to the excitement of the game is the fact that when you've killed an assassin, the whole town will be alerted of your presence. The best thing to do then is to proceed as quickly as possible to the Assassin’s Bureau to avoid thepeople’s wrath. The game has a good variety of weapons that you can utilize in trying to beat the crap out of your character's enemies. Up for your disposal are 15 throwing knives and several types of blades - a hidden blade, short and long blades.
Another major strength of the game is its free-roaming environment. The Assassin’s Creed's game offers your character many things to do and areas to explore. You can run, jump, and climb as you find your next target's whereabouts. You can pick on people's pocket to get maps and other valuable information that would lead you to your targets. You can also solicit the help of informers who will assign you with special tasks to fulfil before giving out vital information about your targets. You'll also get to interrogate people and eavesdrop on them to get the information you need.
The Assasin’s Creed’s game controls are easy to use and you won't really have problems in making your character jump, climb, cling and even slash his way through groups of enemies. The game's battle systems is your traditional hack and slash and defend type of control.
