Vampire Rain franchise is not new to the gaming world it was originally introduced through the Xbox 360 platform. This game is back better than ever on Playstation 3 retitled Vampire Rain: Altered Species.
In this unique stealth game you are John Lloyd, a member of an elite special ops unit under the jurisdiction of the American Information Bureau. A strange phenomenon has taken place. Everyday citizens are rapidly disappearing and zombie vampiric-like creatures have been sighted. These mysterious manifestations preying on human flesh are called Night Walkers. The government wants you to stop this dangerous threat before it escalates nation wide. As John Lloyd your main objective is to kill the Prime Nightwalker which will halt the infestation. Joined by Hank Harrison (squad leader) and Duane Hanson (operation tech man) you are armed with a variety of weapons and equipment to aid your mission.

Game Play in Vampire Rain
The gameplay in this PS3 game is somewhat similar to other popular series like Metal Gear Solid. John Lloyd must creep around the city, through buildings, and across roof tops in stealth mode avoiding a deadly mob attack of nightwalkers. Vampire Rain Altered Species is a challenging game. You never know what might be lurking around the corner waiting for you. Each nightwalker has lightening speed. A mere two strikes from one of these monsters will quickly end your life. For artillery players have an assortment of handguns, assault rifles, UV knives, and sub-machine guns. Majority of missions require John Lloyd to go solo communicating with his squad via ear piece. A miniature map feature allows you to pinpoint enemy locales during the game. A Necrovision feature when activated let players detect mortals (displays as green) from vicious nightwalkers (displays as red). Vampire Rain sports an online mode for up to seven players to combat. Several interactive multiplayer modes including an intense Deathmatch are options for online Playstation 3 players.

When it comes to stealth action games plot originality plays an important role. Vampire Rain Altered Species combines the aspects of military warfare with blockbuster horror appeal for an exciting gaming experience. The best description of this game would be Splinter Cell meets Silent Hill. Players have to maneuver around deadly bloodsuckers who mimic zombie characteristics. The realistic visuals and endless rain create a dark somber unearthly mood. Vampire Rain Altered Species is more than an enhanced version of a previous game. It takes players on an eerie armed forces mission to save the country.
