Pac-Man Fever for the Nintendo GameCube is rated E for Everyone but does it stand up to that rating? How's the game play? Is it user friendly? Is the game satisfying? Find out with this review.

E for Everyone

Pac-Man Fever is a game created by Namco for the Nintendo GameCube console. On the box it states this game is rated E for Everyone and it does hold up to that statement. There is absolutely no violence in this video game at all. It is set up like a board game that is played through the video game console. By winning the first place position on the board you receive tokens. These tokens are then used to buy individual games that are played throughout the board game set up. Some of these games include competition between all the other players or one that you pick or the play who picks you. There are always four players during the game. You can choose who you want to be from a list of preselected characters including Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man, Rieko, Astaroth, Hihachi and Tiger. The latter four being characters from other video games.

Game Play

The game play for Pac-Man Fever is simple, easy to understand and very user friendly. All ages can play this game because it is very simple. There are no complex controller maneuvers needed to make certain moves in the game. There are a few mini-games on the board game structure that require knowledge of what each keypad on the controller does. These games are simple and even a four-year-old can do them. The mini-games once unlocked let you play a decathalon against the other players to win a championship cup. This is one of the fun aspects of the game.

Game Satisfaction

Pac-Man Fever is a great game if you are not looking for a complex video game. It is perfect for kids and even adults who just wish to have some mindless fun. If you like board games then Pac-Man Fever for the Nintendo GameCube video game console may be just right for you. However if you are into more complex, involved video games then you will not like Pac-Man Fever. There is a lack of evolution to the game and once all the mini-games are bought the competition stays the same. You cannot get a harder mode version as you can with other video games. Overall Pac-Man is a great family oriented video game with no violence, rated for everyone and very simple to learn and play.
