My son has a Wii. My son loves his Wii. My son also loves spending his money (or mine!) on Wii Points.
In case there is some shy, introverted person out there curled up in a dark corner, afraid to come into the light and ask “what are Wii Points?” I’ll summarize: Nintendo has found a way to dig deeper into the pockets of unsuspecting parents. Oh yes, that’s right. If spending hundreds of bucks on a console and then several more Benjamin Franklins (or in my case as a Canadian, several more Sir Robert Brodens...eh?) on games and additional accessories isn’t enough, you can now purchase Wii Points to download the games that you already purchased for the old Nintendo systems some 15 years ago!
Okay, okay, you might be thinking “Wow, Rhonda just totally went arrgo!” Don’t get me wrong, I think the Wii is über cool...for my son, that is. Hey, at least he’s up and moving around when playing Wii games. I’ll also admit that playing, erm...watching my son play the old Mario games brings back a pleasant nostalgic taste of past decades. Surprise! I’m a child of the 80’s!
Anyway, I’m drifting off course here. The whole point of this post is to ask if there is a way to backup all those games for the Wii that my son has downloaded using Wii Points. You know, in case - in the heat of the moment after Mario falls into that bottomless pit when everyone knows he was told to jump – the Wii takes an unfortunate tumble from the shelf, smashing to the ground rendering it incapable of ever turning on again.
