#1 NBA 2K9
Publisher: 2K Sports (www.2ksports.com)
Platform: Xbox 360, PS3, PS2
Release Date: October 7, 2008
Genre: Sports (Basketball)
Last year, NBA 2K8 was the top selling basketball game on the Xbox 360 and for the past seven years the 2K series has been the top rated b-ball video game. The series is back to claim it’s thrown with NBA 2K9, introducing all-new features such as full 5-on-5 online play, smoother shot stick controls, and The Other Season, which will allow real-life NBA players to take ownership of online gamers. It’s kind of like backwards fantasy basketball, but instead of fans picking players, it’ll be pro basketball players picking 2K9 gamers. The Living Roster is clearly one of the best new features adding in-game in real time stats for NBA Players, kind of like Live 09’s Dynamic DNA. And to make things a little clearer as to why I chose this game as number one, NBA 2K9 is easily the best-looking basketball game on this list. Actually, it’s easily the best-looking game on the list, hands down.
