The Cooking Mama franchise for the Nintendo DS serves up some delicious foods But sometimes it's more important to get the recipe done correctly than it is to learn from your mistakes. That's why cheat codes will make sure our meals get served hot and tasty.

Cooking with Mama

Mama likes to cook and have you help - but she also likes hanging with friends and gardening too. Whichever of the games you choose, the Nintendo DS' touch screen makes you more short order cook than gourmet in the speed of which you can pick up utensils and use them. Of course there's more to do than just the cooking - some of it more difficult than most. And since Mama doesn't like you to waste food, maybe a few hidden ways to succeed are OK. Besides, everybody knows that Mama is pretty forgiving.

Cooking Mama started it all, and you'll have to get aquainted with Mama and the rules of the kitchen. You'll get more comfortable and assured as you go - but just in case, here's how to start getting some acclaim by getting medals:

Unlock the Bronze medal by getting more than 60 points.

Unlock the Silver medal by getting more than 80 points and less than a 100.

Unlock the Gold medal by getting over 100 points.

Mama is pretty outgoing so you need to be as well. She's got friends from all over it seems and they're interested in what you're doing and how well you can cook. Stay on everybody's good side by being a cooking maven and winning some awards. Which you can get an "assist" from these special tips:

Cook all 80 recipes to unlock a plaque with a fork, knife and a plate on the top screen in the kitchen.

Meet all of the friends in the Let's Cook mode to unlock a statue of Mama.

Acquire all of the design and diary items to unlock a statue of a cooking pot.

Mama doesn't stay in the kitchen all of the time, so join her outside and smell some clean air. Help her take care of the garden and you'll be amply rewarded. And by knowing what to look for - you'll find some secrets worth having too:

Succesfully harvest a pumpkin in the mini-game allows you to carve a Jack-O-Lantern. Go into the decorating screen where you pick to decorate your garden to find a picture of the Jack-O-Lantern. Click on the picture.

In the Nectar game, go to the cute treasure chest after you have harvested all of the plants and vegetables and fruit. Open the treasure chest and click on the golden bee to play the secret Get the Honey game.
